Hello, my name is Sindy Vorderstrasse and I currently reside in Lincoln, Nebraska and I have been here for the past twenty-two years. The best thing about my self is that I am a wife, mother and grandmother and I have a great love for my family especially my grandson. Others know me as being a quiet, calm, laid back gal with a gentle, loving, and giving spirit. Since the year 2001 I have been designing graphics and web sites for both personal use and small businesses; and although I did not have a degree then, the talent and gifts that I had was good enough to catch a viewer’s eye. I am currently a member of three web groups were we design free graphics and web pages for special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, etc. August 2006 I lost my beloved son at age 19 to suicide, it was then that I made a decision to go back to college and pursue a life long dream as a designer and to get my degree in Digital Design from the Art Institute of Pittsburg. My experience includes Corel Jasc Paintshop Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Dreamweaver, HTML, CSS and Java scripts, Microsoft Access, Excel and Power Point. Besides designing my other passion is writing ; since my sons death I have written poetry not only to aid me through my grief but to help others as well. Some of my poems have been used by several organizations, church groups and published in newsletters. I have also written a children’s story, and I am currently working with an illustrator to publish this book soon. My passion is design, I love to find photos and design something beautiful and unique from them, to spend my free time in Photoshop and Illustrator designing graphics. Recently I have been designing personal graphics and web sites upon request for other parents who have lost a loved one. My dream is to design special memorial graphics to be sold as prints and gifts.
